Today’s Needs

Someone today
needs exactly the words that you can speak,
words of hope, words of appreciation,
words that say,
“I see your situation…
and I care.”

Someone today
needs the chance
to do some small thing
that you could do yourself
and would rather than let them
but the letting them
will be the kinder thing.

Someone today
needs the challenge
of working through some tough moment
that you did not create
and are not obligated to remove.
Pray them through.

Someone today
needs to know
that you have noticed
the work they do,
the help they give,
the hours they spend
doing things
that are often taken for granted.

Someone today
needs you to be
the difference in their world
and we all
need the wisdom
of knowing
where we are
and who we could be
